Where can I take IELTS or PTE in Dammam and Al Khobar?

Pearson's test centre finder lists no PTE centre in Dammam or Al Khobar. The nearest, in neighbouring Dhahran, is Al-Bassam Institute, listed as for male candidates only. Women in the Eastern Province would need to book Topsys in Riyadh, which Pearson lists with female-only and mixed sessions (see our Riyadh guide).

Pearson's finder does not say which tests each centre runs on which day. When you book, choose PTE Academic, PTE Academic UKVI or PTE Core first and then your city; only centres with slots for that test appear.

Pearson charges USD 425 for PTE Academic, PTE Academic UKVI and PTE Core alike, and USD 360 for PTE Home A1, A2 or B1. The British Council's Saudi fee is shown in its booking system when you choose a session; compare it with IDP's SAR 1,705 before you pay.

IELTS: book online with the British Council or IDP, choose Dammam and Al Khobar and pick a session; the venue address comes in your confirmation. Register with the same identity document you will bring on test day.

PTE: create a myPTE account with details that exactly match your ID, choose the test, then a centre and a slot (Pearson's booking guide). Pearson's ID policy asks for a valid passport for every PTE test, and a passport is the only ID accepted if you test outside your country of citizenship, which covers most expatriate residents.

Results: IELTS on computer results usually arrive within a few days, and Pearson sends PTE scores typically within 48 hours (PTE scoring). Before you pay, take a free IELTS mock test or a free PTE mock test to check you are ready.
