Read on 29 and 30 October 2026 in the British Council's booking system, and Pearson's fees page with Tanzania selected. Arusha and other cities had no IELTS or PTE sessions listed, so candidates from the north travel to Dar es Salaam or to Nairobi.

Refund, transfer and payment rules are in our IELTS fee in Tanzania and PTE fee in Tanzania guides.

IELTS: book online with the British Council, choose Dar es Salaam and pick a session; the venue address comes in your confirmation. Register with the identity document you will bring on test day, and bring that same document.

PTE: create a myPTE account with details that exactly match your ID, choose the test, then your city, a centre and a slot (Pearson's booking guide). Pearson's ID policy asks for a valid passport, and a passport is the only ID accepted if you test outside your country of citizenship; check its exceptions list before relying on a national ID card.

Results: both IELTS booking systems show results in 1 to 5 days for IELTS on computer, and Pearson sends PTE scores typically within 48 hours (PTE scoring). Before you pay, take a free IELTS mock test or a free PTE mock test to check you are ready.
