Where can I take IELTS or PTE in Macau?

Pearson's centre finder showed one PTE centre in Macau on 29 and 30 October 2026: the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center, which also hosts British Council IELTS. Pearson's price finder lists only PTE Academic and PTE Core for Macau, so for PTE Academic UKVI the nearest options are Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

Pearson's finder shows only centres with open appointments for the test you pick, so check PTE Academic UKVI or PTE Core separately before you book.

Read on 29 and 30 October 2026 on the providers' own pages and on Pearson's price finder with Macau selected. The British Council charges for Macau IELTS in Hong Kong dollars; the UKVI price is from Gallant Computer Company's ielts.org page. Pearson's price finder for Macau lists only PTE Academic and PTE Core, both at USD 336, and no PTE Home or PTE Academic UKVI.

Refund, transfer and payment rules are in our IELTS fee in Macau and PTE fee in Macau guides.

Hong Kong has three British Council venues with sessions every day and a Pearson-run PTE centre; Zhuhai, across the border, has an NEEA venue at BNBU with IELTS for UKVI. See our Hong Kong and Guangzhou guides.

IELTS: Book IELTS in the British Council's booking system with Macao selected. IDP's Macau page listed no sessions. The venue address comes in your confirmation. The British Council's booking system says 1 to 5 days for IELTS on computer.

PTE: create a myPTE account with details that exactly match your ID, choose the test, then Macau, a centre and a slot (Pearson's booking guide). Pearson's ID policy asks for a valid passport, but its exceptions list lets Macau citizens testing in Macau use a Macau identity card or driving licence if they have no valid passport. Pearson sends PTE scores typically within 48 hours (PTE scoring).

Before you pay, take a free IELTS mock test or a free PTE mock test to check you are ready.
