IELTS fees in Macau
The British Council runs IELTS in Macau from Hong Kong. Its dates, fees and locations page lists the Macau fees below, and the ielts.org centre pages for its Macau venues show the same HK$3,140. Macau costs more than Hong Kong itself, where the same test is HK$2,900.
No IELTS Online, Life Skills or paper option was listed for Macau, and IDP had no Macau venue on ielts.org. One Skill Retake is offered at some Macau venues after IELTS on computer; the British Council's page did not give a Macau price for it.

Transfer, cancellation and refund rules
The British Council's policy for IELTS Academic and General Training: a transfer is free 15 or more days before the test, costs 25% of the fee within 5 to 14 days, and is not allowed under 5 days. Cancelling 15 or more days ahead returns 75%; within 14 days nothing comes back. Illness or an emergency can be claimed as exceptional circumstances up to two calendar days after the test, with evidence, and refunds take 4 to 6 weeks.
The policy adds that no refund is given within 14 days even if you booked within that window, chose the wrong date or test type, or registered with the wrong ID. Transfers are made in the Test Taker Portal, and the transfer fee is never refunded. Read our IELTS cancel, reschedule and refund guide.
