Where can I take IELTS or PTE in Pretoria?

Pearson's test centres and fees page listed 7 test centres across South Africa on 30 October 2026, including Pretoria. PTE Academic, PTE Academic UKVI and PTE Core cost ZAR 5,800.

Read on 29 and 30 October 2026 in the British Council's booking system, IDP's Pretoria test-date page, and Pearson's fees page with South Africa selected. Prices are the same as in Johannesburg, which is close enough to give you extra dates from both providers.

Refund, transfer and payment rules are in our IELTS fee in South Africa and PTE fee in South Africa guides.

IELTS: book online with the British Council or IDP, choose Pretoria and pick a session; the venue address comes in your confirmation. Register with the identity document you will bring on test day, and bring that same document.

PTE: create a myPTE account with details that exactly match your ID, choose the test, then your city, a centre and a slot (Pearson's booking guide). Pearson's ID policy asks for a valid passport, and a passport is the only ID accepted if you test outside your country of citizenship; check its exceptions list before relying on a national ID card.

Results: both IELTS booking systems show results in 1 to 5 days for IELTS on computer, and Pearson sends PTE scores typically within 48 hours (PTE scoring). Before you pay, take a free IELTS mock test or a free PTE mock test to check you are ready.
