Where can I take IELTS or PTE in Vientiane?

Pearson's test centre finder listed one PTE centre in Laos on 30 October 2026: Duc Anh Overseas Study Advisory company limited in Vientiane, a partner venue. Pearson's Laos price list has no PTE Core.

Pearson's finder does not say which tests each centre runs on which day. When you book, choose the test first and then your city; only centres with slots for that test appear.

Read on 29 and 30 October 2026 in the British Council's booking system, IDP's Vientiane test-date page and Pearson's price finder with Laos selected. The same IELTS test costs USD 20 less at SpringBoard4Education Laos than at UTD Education, but it runs only twice a month.

Refund, transfer and payment rules are in our IELTS fee in Laos and PTE fee in Laos guides.

For IELTS for UKVI or more dates, the nearest options are across the border in north-east Thailand (IDP tests in Udon Thani and Khon Kaen, the British Council in Khon Kaen) or in Bangkok. See our Bangkok guide and the Laos test centre list.

IELTS: book online with the British Council, choose Vientiane and pick a session; the venue address comes in your confirmation. Bring the same identity document you entered when you booked.

PTE: create a myPTE account with details that exactly match your ID, choose the test, then Vientiane or the nearest city with a centre, and pick a slot at least 24 hours ahead (Pearson's booking guide). Pearson's ID policy asks for a valid passport, and Laos is not on its list of country exceptions, so bring your passport. Anyone testing outside their country of citizenship must show a passport in any case.

Results: IDP's session listings say 1 to 5 days for IELTS on computer, and Pearson sends PTE scores typically within 48 hours (PTE scoring). Before you pay, take a free IELTS mock test or a free PTE mock test to check you are ready.
