What IELTS score do you need as a massage therapist in Ontario?

Pathway 1 is a self-declaration that English or French is your first and primary language. Pathway 2 is a self-declaration that you completed at least three years of high school in English or French. Pathway 3 is a language test. Pathway 4 is completing a recognised massage therapy programme with a language admission requirement and two mandatory communication courses. Pathway 5 is other compelling evidence, such as a university degree in English or French, reviewed case by case.

If CMTO later finds you are not fluent despite meeting a pathway, it can require an approved test before you take the Certification Examinations or complete registration. French tests (TCF Canada, TEF Canada) are also accepted.

CMTO accepts IELTS One Skill Retake only if it is taken within 60 days of your full IELTS test. The language requirement must be met before you take the Certification Examinations; international applicants follow the steps on the CMTO page for international and other graduates.
