What IELTS score do teachers need for Australia?

AITSL says it will only accept an Academic IELTS Test Report Form and does not accept PTE, PEAT, ISLPR, TOEFL, Cambridge or any other test. It accepts paper-based and computer-delivered Academic tests at IELTS test centres and accepts IELTS One Skill Retake, but not IELTS Online or the Indicator test. The scores must appear on a single TRF.

Instead of IELTS you can use the study option: four full years of study in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK or the USA, including a recognised initial teacher education qualification completed in those countries. AITSL verifies every TRF; a TRF that is not authentic leads to a declined application and a three-year ban.

VIT requires testing from applicants whose initial teacher education was completed outside Australia, New Zealand, the UK, the USA, Canada or Ireland. It accepts IELTS Academic at a test centre (paper or computer) and One Skill Retake, but not IELTS Online. ISLPR results count only from approved, teaching-focused test sites. VIT lists two tests, IELTS Academic and ISLPR, so PTE is not an option there.
