Which IELTS do you need for a vocational or trade course abroad?

Usually General Training. ielts.org says General Training suits people who want to train or study below degree level, and IDP says an IELTS score is often a prerequisite for vocational training in construction, hospitality and leisure, and tourism, because General Training reflects workplace and social situations. The course provider sets the test and score, so check first.

What ielts.org and IDP say

ielts.org says to choose General Training if you wish to train or study below degree level (ielts.org). IDP's General Training page says the test measures practical, everyday English with tasks reflecting workplace and social situations, which is why an IELTS score is often a prerequisite for vocational training (IDP).
