How IU Indianapolis handles TOEFL scores
The school code is 1325 for TOEFL iBT, the Home Edition and Essentials. After admission, the placement tests page uses your TOEFL score to decide whether you sit the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) test: undergraduates with 60 to 94 (3.5 to 4.5) take it and 95+ (5.0+) are exempt; graduates with 79 to 99 (4.0 to 4.5) take it and 100+ (5.0+) are exempt. Graduate students admitted with the Home Edition or Essentials must take it. You cannot submit updated scores after admission.
For comparison, the graduate page sets IELTS at 6.5 and the undergraduate page at 5.5.

If your TOEFL score is below IU Indianapolis's level
The Program for Intensive English (PIE) page says passing Level 5 meets the undergraduate requirement and Level 7 meets it for select master's programmes, with no TOEFL needed. PIE does not give conditional admission to degree programmes; you apply to the degree separately.
