King's TOEFL test rules

Tests are valid if taken within two years of the start date of your course, counted from the 1st of the month the course begins. All elements must be shown in one test: King's cannot combine scores across two tests and cannot take TOEFL MyBest scores. Send results through King's Apply; King's cannot accept results sent by post. TOEFL is listed for the International Foundation only for applicants who do not need a student visa.

For comparison, the undergraduate page sets IELTS Academic at 7.0 with 6.5 in each skill for Band B and 6.5 with 6.0 for Band D.

If your TOEFL score is below the King's level

King's Pre-Sessional English courses can meet the requirement: postgraduate Band B and C need a pass with Band 7, and Band D a pass with Band 6.5. King's Foundations offers routes to undergraduate entry. The pre-sessional calculator on the page works from IELTS scores only.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your King's programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
