What is on the report
ETS describes the test taker score report like this (ETS score FAQ, score page):
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Section scores | Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing, each 1–6 in half-point steps |
| Total score | Average of the four sections, rounded to the nearest half band |
| Comparable 0–120 total | Shown for a two-year transition period after January 2026 |
| MyBest scores | Highest section scores from all valid test dates, and their sum |
| Test date | The scores come from one test date |
Extra feedback in your ETS account
Your ETS account shows more than the report: your proficiency level in each section, feedback on which Reading and Listening question types you handled well and which are still developing, a closer look at your Speaking and Writing (language use, grammar, mechanics and more), and sample high-scoring Speaking and Writing responses with explanations (ETS score FAQ).

What institutions see
Institutions see your section and total scores from the test date you send, and your MyBest scores. Institutions that receive scores through TOEFL Access can also see Speaking and Writing samples from your test (ETS). The bulletin says organisations using ETS Data Manager can read your writing samples and listen to your speaking samples (bulletin).
They see only the scores you choose to send. Official reports reach your chosen recipients within 11 business days after your test, and you should confirm receipt with each institution (ETS).
Getting a copy
Official scores appear in your ETS account 3 days after the test. ETS's FAQ says the PDF report is ready 24–48 hours after that, while its score page says one day (FAQ, score page). A paper copy, if you asked for one, is mailed 11–15 days after the test. Delivery times are covered in TOEFL results time. Rules and fees change. Check the test owner's own page before you book or pay. This guide is general information, not official advice from ETS or Duolingo.
