London Business School TOEFL minimums by programme

How LBS handles TOEFL scores

You submit a score report with your application and make London Business School the score recipient, so the school can verify it electronically. Only tests completed within two years of the August programme start are accepted. The sheets say nothing about MyBest scores, the Home Edition or an institution code.

This page gives TOEFL minimums on the 0 to 120 scale only. TOEFL iBT reports issued since January 2026 also carry a 1 to 6 band score; see how the new TOEFL score scale works, and ask admissions how they read a 1 to 6 report.

For comparison, the same MBA sheet sets IELTS Academic or IELTS for UKVI at 7.0 with 6.5 in each component.

If your TOEFL score is below the LBS level

Neither sheet mentions conditional offers or pre-sessional English. The admissions committee may waive the test: MBA applicants can ask for an exemption after at least two years in a professional role in a majority English-speaking country, or after a full-time degree taught in English in such a country completed within five years of the start (two years for the MiM-family programmes). The committee may also ask you to take or retake a test during admissions.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your LBS programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
