What PTE score do you need for Louisiana Tech University?

For graduate admission, the official PTE score must be sent from Pearson and cannot be more than two years old, and official scores must be on file before a final admission decision. Undergraduates are asked to email a PDF of their documents to international@latech.edu even if an official copy is sent by the testing institution. Neither page mentions PTE Academic Online or PTE Core.

IELTS is 6.5 at both levels (over four modules for graduate study). TOEFL iBT is 79 (4.5 from 2026) for undergraduates and 80 for graduate applicants. The undergraduate English proficiency list marks PTE as not currently accepted for the Bulldog Scholarship, while the scholarship section lists PTE 58 next to IELTS 6.5 and Duolingo 105, so confirm with admissions if the scholarship matters to you.

Undergraduates can also show English proficiency with a high school curriculum taught in English, SAT EBRW of 500 or English Accuplacer of 250. Graduate applicants can use a certificate of completion for ELS Level 112, and the page reminds each applicant to check the test requirements of their own degree programme. International graduate students are not eligible for the Bulldog Scholarship but may apply for graduate assistantships.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Louisiana Tech programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
