Metro State PTE minimums by level
From the undergraduate international requirements page and the graduate international requirements page.
| Programme or band | PTE overall | Minimum per skill |
|---|---|---|
| Undergraduate | 50 | None stated |
| Graduate | 50 | None stated |
Test rules and how to send your score
Both pages say only PTE scores accessed via the Score Report Website are considered valid, so share your score through Pearson rather than sending a PDF. Neither page mentions PTE Academic Online, PTE Core or a validity period.
On the same pages, IELTS Academic is 5.5 for undergraduates and 6.5 for graduates. Because PTE stays at 50 for both, PTE is a relatively low bar for graduate applicants here.

If you fall short
Both pages accept completion of Level 112 at an ELS school in the US, and the Michigan English Test at 56 with a cover letter from an institution with an ESL programme. Undergraduates have more exemptions, including a US high school diploma or 16 credits with a 2.5 GPA at a US college. No conditional admission route is described.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Metro State programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
