What IELTS score do you need for Munster Technological University?

MTU assesses one test sitting only, so every component minimum must be met in the same test as the overall score. It accepts the IELTS One Skill Retake Test Report Form where the retake is completed within 60 days of the original test day. Results must have been issued no more than two years before you start at MTU.

Applicants with entry qualifications from countries on MTU's exemption list are normally exempt from testing; India is not on that list. MTU reserves the right to ask any applicant for a test, reviews its requirements every year, and does not state TOEFL scores on the new 1 to 6 scale.

MTU's policy allows entry up to 0.5 IELTS below the standard minimum only through named partner pathways that include an ACELS-accredited pre-sessional English course. The one programme listed is the MSc in Nursing (International), with an 11-week pre-sessional course delivered by Celtic School of English for partner TEMC. Students entering this way need the standard score to transfer to another MTU programme.

The study visa is a separate check: the Irish Immigration Service sets a visa minimum of IELTS Academic 5.0 (PTE Academic 30) for courses other than second-level, foundation or English language courses, and says your college's own minimum may be different.
