Test rules at NTNU
NTNU accepts the TOEFL Home Edition but not MyBest scores or TOEFL Essentials. You must upload your result in Søknadsweb and also have ETS send it to NTNU directly; NTNU's code for English tests is 9652. TOEFL, IELTS and PTE scores are only valid for two years.
On the international master's page, the IELTS Academic minimum is 6.5 in each part of the test. The general admission level is IELTS 5.0.

If your TOEFL score falls short
NTNU's pages list no conditional offer. The master's page says NTNU expects all students to have at least B2 English, preferably C1, and that only the listed tests and certificates are accepted.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your NTNU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
