What TOEFL score do you need for NYU Shanghai?

For the MS in Quantitative Finance, the test must be taken within two years of the deadline you apply by; for the 15 January 2027 deadline, for example, the test must be no older than 15 January 2025. If you sit the test more than once, the committee considers only the test with the highest total score in that window. Review can begin with an unofficial score.

Undergraduate English testing must be completed no earlier than two years before the application deadline. TOEFL ITP Plus for China and TOEFL Essentials are not accepted.

On the MS page, the minimum IELTS score is 6.5.

MS applicants who are completing a bachelor's degree taught in English, conferred before enrolment, can ask the admissions office to waive the TOEFL or IELTS. Undergraduates need no test if they have completed at least three years of schooling taught only in English.
