What Duolingo score do you need for Oxford Brookes University?

Brookes accepts Duolingo tests completed after 1 July 2024 that include all four modules. If your English qualification came with a verification ID, send it with your applicant ID to admissions@brookes.ac.uk so the University can verify it.

The page says that if you apply for Pre-sessional English, the International Foundation Diploma or a course with an IELTS requirement below 6.0 and need a student visa, you must take a UKVI-approved SELT instead. Art and Design Foundation also asks for a UKVI-approved SELT.

For comparison, the same page sets most undergraduate courses at IELTS 6.0 with 6.0 in reading and writing and 5.5 in listening and speaking, and Law, Architecture and English Literature at 6.5 with the same components.

The page lists Pre-Master's programmes and the Oxford International Digital Institute (OIDI) online pre-sessional English as routes, the latter accepted at 6 overall with 6 in reading and writing and 5 in speaking and listening for IELTS 6.0-level courses.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Oxford Brookes programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
