What TOEFL score do you need for Prairie View A&M?

Official TOEFL scores must be submitted as part of the complete graduate application packet. The Graduate School page exempts anyone who graduated from a US secondary school, scored 18 on the ACT English section or 400 on SAT Verbal. Neither page gives a TOEFL institution code or validity period.

For comparison, the undergraduate page sets IELTS at 6.5. For graduate study, the Global Engagement page gives IELTS 6.5 while the Graduate School page gives 6.0, so confirm with the Graduate School.

TOEFL iBT score reports issued since January 2026 also carry a 1 to 6 band score alongside the 0 to 120 total; see our guide to the new TOEFL score scale. Where a page above gives only a 0 to 120 figure, that is the figure this guide reports.

Graduate applicants can meet the requirement with ELS Language Centers Level 112 or The Language Company Level 9, according to the Global Engagement page. The undergraduate page describes no conditional route.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Prairie View A&M programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
