What Duolingo score do you need for Purdue Northwest?

At graduate level, the Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars (OGSPS) accepts the Duolingo English Test with its integrated subscores. It does not accept the individual Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening subscores.

Graduate Duolingo scores must be no more than two years old when the recommendation for admission is received, and you request that results go to the Purdue University Graduate Office. Some graduate programmes set higher minimums.

For comparison, the undergraduate page and the graduate page both set IELTS at 6.5 overall.

Neither page describes conditional admission tied to Duolingo. Undergraduates can also meet the requirement through the SAT, a British O-Level English grade of A or B, or 12 transferable US credits including an English Composition course equivalent to ENGL 10400. Graduate waivers apply to recent degrees from English-speaking countries.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Purdue Northwest programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
