What IELTS score do you need for Solent University?

These course pages were read on 8 October 2026; none states a PTE score. Adult Nursing is open to international applicants, includes a values-based interview and accepts the OET. The Applied AI and Data Science MSc asks for less than Solent's general master's level, so follow your course page.

Solent's India and Nigeria web pages list no school-English waiver, but its course entry requirements PDF does. It accepts Standard XII English from CBSE (Core Module 301), ICSE and most state boards, excluding Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat and Punjab, and reserves the right to ask for IELTS. No time limit is stated.

School-English routes for Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh, and medium of instruction letters, are not stated by Solent.

Solent's CAS request page asks for "a deposit of 50% of your tuition fee", not required from government-sponsored students. Its visas page issues a CAS after pre-CAS checks in CAS Shield, "including an interview". Recruitment pauses are not stated. Master's courses list a January 2027 start on its January starts page, with no deadline published.

Solent's pre-sessional English runs 12 weeks (from 8 June 2026, for students up to 1 band below their degree score) or 7 weeks (from 13 July 2026, up to 0.5 below). Fees for 2027/28 are not yet published; 2025/26 fees were £4,600 and £2,890. Whether a SELT is needed is not stated.

For a Student visa, UK Visas and Immigration asks for English at CEFR B2 for degree-level study and B1 below degree level, per gov.uk. At degree level, gov.uk adds, your university can assess your English itself and may ask you to take a different test.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Solent programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
