What Duolingo score do you need for South Dakota Mines?

Scores should be sent directly from the testing agency. The page allows copies of IELTS, TOEFL and PTE scores to be sent for verification but does not extend that to Duolingo.

A footnote says minimum scores require English proficiency testing on arrival at the university. The page gives no Duolingo validity period or subscore rule.

For comparison, the same page sets IELTS at 6.5.

Mines has no intensive ESL programme on campus. Applicants who plan to attend one in the US first may be eligible for conditional admission if they meet every requirement except the English score. Under its agreement with ELS Language Centers, undergraduate and graduate students must complete Level 112. No I-20 is issued until the English credentials and proof of funding arrive.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your South Dakota Mines programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
