How Suffolk handles TOEFL scores

Both pages give Suffolk's TOEFL code as 3771. The undergraduate page says scores cannot be self-reported and must come from the testing agency.

The graduate page says that during the transition graduate applicants are considered for direct entry if they meet the minimums, including subscores, on either the original or the new TOEFL iBT scale. Only the most recent English test is considered, and scores are valid for two years from the test date.

For comparison, the undergraduate page sets IELTS at 6.5, and the graduate page at 6.5 with no subscore below 6.0.

If your TOEFL score is below Suffolk's level

Undergraduates can also show English through an SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing score of 520 or an ACT composite of 19, which may be self-reported. Graduate applicants are exempt if they received a degree within the last two years from an accredited U.S. college, or from one where the documented language of instruction was English.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Suffolk programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
