What IELTS score do you need for Suffolk University?

Full admission needs TOEFL iBT 80 with no section below 17, TOEFL Essentials 8.5 with no section below 8, IELTS 6.5 with no band below 6.0, PTE 65, Michigan English Test 58 with no section below 57, or Duolingo 110 with subscores of Literacy 110, Conversation 100, Comprehension 120 and Production 85. On the new TOEFL scale Suffolk asks for band 4.5 with no section below 4, a policy it says may change, and during the transition either scale counts. IELTS One Skill Retake is considered. You are exempt with a degree from an accredited US college within the last two years, or a degree from an accredited institution where the documented language of instruction was English within the last two years. That second route names no countries. US permanent residents and native English speakers from listed countries, including Australia, Canada, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and the UK, are also exempt. If you miss the direct-entry English requirement, Suffolk says admission may still be possible through INTO Suffolk, whose programs include Academic English, an Integrated Master's and a Global Graduate Certificate, with a degree-seeking I-20 from the start.

Freshman and transfer applicants send one of TOEFL iBT 79 (Home Edition and TOEFL ITP for China accepted), TOEFL Essentials 8.5, IELTS 6.5, Duolingo 105, PTE 54 or Michigan English Test 58. IELTS One Skill Retake is considered. Scores cannot be self-reported. SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 520 or ACT 19 also proves English, as do some IB, AP, IGCSE, GCSE and A-level results.
