TasTAFE test rules
TasTAFE describes Duolingo as an online, on-demand test you can take from home with a computer and webcam, and says the video interview and writing sample are sent to the institution with your score. It accepts a combination of two English tests taken within 12 months where the overall results both meet the requirement and one test covers a lower individual score; the earlier test then sets the two-year validity. The page also carries a note on Duolingo and student visa applications, so check visa rules separately.
For comparison, the same page sets IELTS 6.0 with no band below 5.0 for all courses other than Nursing.

TasTAFE offers ELICOS English packages for applicants below the minimum, with General and Academic English Language Programs in 10-week blocks.
