TBS English test and exemptions

Without a certificate, MiM applicants take an online English test on Easyrecrue after their application is evaluated. The MiM FAQ calls an official certificate "recommended", with the TBS test as the alternative.

Native English speakers (shown by passport) and applicants with at least two years of high school taught in English are exempt for the MiM and Bachelor. For an MSc, you are exempt if your last programme was taught 100% in English. The Bachelor admission page says certificates must be from the last two years.

Fees, intakes and the Bachelor conflict

The MSc FAQ gives an application fee of €100 and tuition of about €18,500 per MSc. The Bachelor application fee is €120. The Toulouse MiM decides on a rolling basis.

The two Bachelor pages disagree (IELTS 6.0 against 6.5), so ask TBS which applies to your track, or aim for 6.5.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your TBS Education programme page and in your offer, so check it there before you book a test.

Minimum vs competitive score

Where TBS Education publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.

Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.

If you are close to the line, aim for a margin above it: one weak skill can miss the requirement even when the overall band clears it. Not sure where you stand? Take a free IELTS mock test and get a band for each skill.
