What IELTS score do you need for The Hague University of Applied Sciences?

THUAS accepts only IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT, TOEIC (Listening and Reading 865 plus Speaking and Writing 335), Cambridge B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency, LanguageCert Academic, Pearson PTE Academic and, from October 2026, Cambridge Linguaskill (169). Tests must be taken at a test centre and may not be older than two years on 1 September 2027. Duolingo is not on the list.

You do not need a test if you were educated in the UK, Ireland, the United States, Canada (except Quebec), Australia, New Zealand, South Africa or Malta. An American or International High School Diploma, a European Baccalaureate or the IB may also qualify, but THUAS says it may still ask for a test if the schooling took place in a non-English-speaking country.

THUAS runs an English Academic Preparation Programme that prepares students for the IELTS exam, and The Hague Pathway College offers a foundation route into three-year bachelor's programmes. TOEFL scores go to institution code 7042.
