What TOEFL score do you need for Tohoku University?

The page says the TOEFL iBT figure includes the Home Edition, that scores must be from a test dated October 2023 or later, and that you send scores such as TOEFL iBT to Tohoku through each testing system for your application. It gives no section minimums, MyBest policy or institution code.

The page offers a waiver rather than a conditional route: applicants who attended English-medium middle or high schools for four years or longer in America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the UK, Ireland or some Caribbean islands can submit a document from their principal or guidance counsellor in place of a test score.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Tohoku programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
