If your TOEFL score falls short

For IDE, applicants whose high school teaching language was English for three years do not have to submit TOEFL, TOEIC or IELTS scores, though the page recommends it. Selection is a document review followed by individual interviews; no conditional entry is described.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Tsukuba programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
