What IELTS score do you need for United Arab Emirates University (UAEU)?

The undergraduate page lists four tests that do not count: IELTS Indicator, TOEFL Home Edition, TOEFL ITP taken outside the UAE, and the Duolingo English Test. TOEFL results must come from accredited centres such as AMIDEAST. Students from non-MOE curricula who studied at a non-English-medium school must sit one of the accepted tests.

For bachelor's entry, native English speakers who finished secondary school at an English-medium school in a country where English is official are exempt, as are graduates of English-medium private schools in the UAE that follow approved international programmes. The MD figures appear in UAEU's college tables, which the page publishes in the section for UAE nationals and children of Emirati mothers.

For master's study, the score must be under two years old when you apply. A native English speaker with an English-medium degree from a country where English is official is exempt, and so is a graduate of an English-medium institution who can show IELTS 5.0 from when they were admitted to that degree. For a PhD the equivalent waiver needs IELTS 6.0 from master's admission.

An applicant with IELTS Academic 5.5 can be admitted to a master's conditionally. They must reach IELTS 6.0 by the end of the first semester, may take no more than six credit hours that semester (not counting intensive English) and need a GPA of 3.0 in their first nine credit hours, or face dismissal.
