IDP UAE charges AED 1,470 for IELTS on computer, AED 1,570 for IELTS for UKVI and from AED 962 for a One Skill Retake, across 55 test centres in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah. Results arrive in one to five days. Paper is now a Writing on Paper add-on rather than a full paper test.

British Council UAE sets its own fees; its site did not load when this page was checked. IELTS is withdrawing paper tests worldwide from mid-2026, market by market; where a paper option is still listed, confirm it at booking.

Test centres and results

IDP lists 55 test centres across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai (including Motor City), Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Dibba, Ras Al Khaimah and Khorfakkan. Computer results are released in one to five days; the remaining paper results take 13 days.

Australia's Proficient English (IELTS 7.0 each) adds 10 points and Superior (8.0 each) adds 20, achieved within three years of the visa application. Canada accepts only IELTS General Training for Express Entry, and the result must be under two years old. UK universities usually ask 6.0 to 6.5 for undergraduate and 6.5 to 7.0 for postgraduate study.
