How much is the TOEFL iBT fee in the UAE in 2026?

ETS's country list says the TOEFL iBT Home Edition is available in every listed location, and the UAE is on it. ETS's testing-options page calls it the same TOEFL iBT test you would take at a centre, taken at home and monitored online by a human proctor. Sessions run 24 hours a day, four days a week, and you must book at least 24 hours ahead.

You need a desktop or laptop (no tablets), a private room with the door visible on camera, and a phone as a second camera (Home Edition rules). If you have not checked in within 30 minutes of your start time, the test is cancelled without a refund (bulletin).

The 2026–27 TOEFL iBT bulletin says you must reschedule or cancel at least 4 full days before the test: for a Saturday test, by Tuesday. Cancel in time and you automatically get 50% of the fee back, in the currency you paid. Rescheduling costs US$69. Later than that, the fee is lost.

Changes are made in your ETS account or by phone, not by email, post or at the test centre. If you register within 7 days of the test you pay an express registration fee, and you cannot sit TOEFL more than once in any 3-day period. If ETS cancels a session, you can move it free or take a full refund.

The fee includes up to four official score reports to institutions you choose before 10 p.m. (test-centre time) on the day before your test (sending scores). Each report after that costs US$29 on ETS's fee page (its score-sending page still says US$25). Scores reach your ETS account about 3 days after the test and stay valid for 2 years (TOEFL score validity).

ETS says nearly every listed location has TOEFL iBT test centres, but it shows centre addresses and dates only after you sign in to an ETS account, so check there for the cities near you.

ETS says TOEFL scores are accepted by more than 13,000 institutions in over 160 countries; universities in the United States are the best-known users (IELTS vs TOEFL for the USA). Check each university's own page for its current score, since many are still moving from 0–120 to 1–6. For Australian visas, the bulletin says only tests taken before 21 January 2026 and TOEFL iBT Australia are currently approved.
