How UCF handles TOEFL scores

UCF's graduate college accepts TOEFL iBT, IELTS or the Duolingo English Test. Scores must come directly from the testing agency; photocopies and expired scores are not accepted, and TOEFL scores are valid for two years from the test date. Use UCF institution code 5233, and take all sections of the test so your scores are reported properly.

For comparison, the graduate page and the undergraduate answer both set IELTS at 6.5.

If your TOEFL score is below UCF's level

Graduate applicants who complete UCF's English Language Institute Level 8 or higher with a B or better are exempt from the test. Undergraduates have other routes too, including English composition courses with a B or better. UCF's undergraduate page also notes its Intensive English Program. Neither page describes conditional admission.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your UCF programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
