How UNB handles TOEFL scores

The graduate page states TOEFL ITP is not accepted and lists older computer-based (213) and paper-based (550) minimums for pre-2026 tests. Neither page gives an ETS institution code or a MyBest rule. For higher-requirement undergraduate programmes, UNB asks you to contact its International Recruitment Centre to check you meet the minimum.

For comparison, the undergraduate page asks IELTS Academic 6.5 for most programmes and 7.0 for the higher-requirement ones, and the graduate page asks IELTS Academic 7 overall.

If your TOEFL score is below UNB's level

Undergraduates without a score, or who need more English, can be accepted on condition that they complete full-time English Language Training at UNB first; the page says conditional admission still lets you obtain a study visa. At Fredericton this is the Program of Academic English Preparation (PAEP), and at Saint John it runs through Saint John College's EAP and ESL Support programmes.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your UNB programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
