How UNBC handles TOEFL scores

Both pages give UNBC's institutional TOEFL code as 0320. The undergraduate calendar also lists older computer-based (230) and paper-based (570) minimums, and says the online equivalent of a listed test may be accepted as the Office of the Registrar determines. Neither page states a MyBest rule.

For comparison, the undergraduate calendar and the graduate page both ask IELTS Academic 6.5 with not less than 6.0 in any module.

TOEFL iBT score reports issued since January 2026 also carry a 1 to 6 band score alongside the 0 to 120 total; see our guide to the new TOEFL score scale. Where a page above gives only a 0 to 120 figure, that is the figure this guide reports.

If your TOEFL score is below UNBC's level

At undergraduate level, a C or better in UNBC's English Language Studies 50 and 170, or in an articulated BCCAT EAP 4 programme, meets the requirement instead of a test. Graduate applicants can use a B or better in an articulated BCCAT EAP 4 programme completed before applying. Neither page lists a conditional TOEFL level.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your UNBC programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
