What Duolingo score do you need for UNC-Chapel Hill?

The Graduate School accepts only TOEFL, IELTS and the Duolingo English Test, and does not accept IELTS One-Skill Retake or TOEFL MyBest. Scores are reportable for two years from the exam date and must be no more than two years old at submission. To share a DET score, search for "University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill – Graduate Admissions". If scores do not show as received within two weeks of applying, the page asks you to email graduate admissions.

Undergraduates may self-report scores; if admitted and enrolling, official scores must be sent from the testing service.

On the same graduate page, the IELTS minimum is 7 beside the DET 110. Undergraduate admissions gives IELTS 7.5 beside the typical DET 130.

The Graduate School exempts applicants from countries where English is the sole official language of instruction, including India, Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya, among the categories it lists. The pages describe no conditional admission route.
