Sending scores and the IELTS comparison
Students must submit official scores to the University of Delaware through the Duolingo testing service. UD reserves the right to ask for more evidence of English or assign an English pathway after holistic review. The page gives no Duolingo subscore or validity rule.
On the same undergraduate page, IELTS 6.5 is the direct-admission level beside DET 110, and IELTS 5.5 to 6.0 matches the pathway band beside DET 95 to 109.

Conditional admission
To apply for conditional admission, select Academic Transitions (AT) at UD's English Language Institute in your application. Conditional applicants can apply for any of more than 150 majors except nursing and move to full-time undergraduate study after completing the programme.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Delaware programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
