What Duolingo score do you need for the University of Detroit Mercy?

Detroit Mercy says demonstrated English proficiency is not required for admission to most programmes, though students are expected to have basic English communication skills. Students whose native language is not English, and who have not completed a degree at an approved US school, take the ESL test when they arrive.

Nursing applicants must meet a TOEFL minimum before an admission decision; the page lists no Duolingo option for nursing. It gives no Duolingo validity period.

For comparison, the same page sets the IELTS overall band minimum at 6.5.

Students who are not yet proficient, based on the ESL test, must enrol in the American Language and Culture Program, Detroit Mercy's academic ESL preparation programme. They may need to defer the start of classes for a semester or more.
