Kent TOEFL test rules

Kent lists the TOEFL iBT Home Edition separately with the same figures as the test-centre version. Results must have been achieved no more than two years before the start of the course. The page does not mention TOEFL MyBest scores or give an ETS institution code.

Kent now requires all applicants from Pakistan to take an English test in person at an authorised test centre, and TOEFL is one of the three tests it accepts for them.

For comparison, the same page sets IELTS for UKVI at 6.0 with 5.5 in each component for Good, 6.5 with 5.5 for Very Good and 7.0 with 7.0 for Excellent.

If your TOEFL score is below Kent's level

Kent offers pre-sessional courses in person and online for international students who do not meet its English requirements. It strongly encourages applicants who have sat a test more than once to apply for a pre-sessional course.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Kent programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
