Nottingham TOEFL equivalents by IELTS level
From Nottingham's English language equivalencies page, which lists TOEFL (iBT) and TOEFL iBT Home Edition in one row for each scale. Check the IELTS level on your course listing first, as the requirements page says IELTS requirements are listed per course.

Nottingham TOEFL test rules
Nottingham says TOEFL scores must have been taken within the last two years, and it does not accept best scores, meaning the best score in each element across several tests. The page does not give an ETS institution code.
For comparison, the equivalencies page sets IELTS for UKVI Academic at 6.0 with no less than 5.5, 6.5 with no less than 6.0, or 7.0 with no less than 6.0 in each element for the same three levels.

If your TOEFL score is below Nottingham's level
The requirements page says you can also meet the entry requirement through other routes, including a range of academic qualifications from various countries, which the equivalencies page lists. Ask the admissions team about pre-sessional English if your score falls short.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Nottingham programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
