What IELTS score do you need for the University of Passau?

Passau accepts a first degree completed entirely in English if your transcripts say so or your university confirms it officially. Secondary school taught entirely in English counts only if English is an official language and language of education in your country.

A study-abroad semester or several subject courses passed in English can be assessed case by case by the Student Registration Office. A German Abitur or Austrian Matura that states B2 or higher is accepted without a time limit.

The International Education and Global Learning master's is one example: it asks for B2 unless English is your native language or was the language of instruction in your previous education.

Test certificates older than two years at the time of application are not accepted, so book your IELTS with that window in mind. Questions about whether a document counts go to the Student Registration Office (registry@uni-passau.de).
