What TOEFL score do you need for the University of Redlands?

Undergraduate applicants whose native language is not English cannot use the test-optional route and must meet English proficiency with a test score or an English-medium secondary school. Communication Sciences and Disorders applicants submit test scores through CSDCAS, whose submission code the page gives as C122. The page does not give a TOEFL institution code, a MyBest policy or a validity period.

The graduate figures are given on the 0 to 120 scale only. TOEFL iBT score reports issued since January 2026 also carry a 1 to 6 band score; see our guide to the new TOEFL score scale.

For comparison, Redlands asks for IELTS 6.5 at every level on the same page.

Undergraduates can instead use SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 550, ACT English and Reading 21, or graduation from an English-medium secondary school. For graduate applicants with a degree completed in English, the TOEFL or IELTS may be waived; the page suggests discussing other options with an admissions counsellor.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Redlands programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
