Test rules and how to send your score

Both pages say scores must be sent directly from the testing centre or site to St. Thomas and be no more than two years old. Neither mentions PTE Academic Online, PTE Core or a Pearson institution code. The code 6110 is for TOEFL.

On the same pages, undergraduate IELTS is 6.0 and graduate IELTS Academic is 6.5. So PTE 53 is accepted where St. Thomas asks IELTS 6.0 for undergraduates and IELTS 6.5 for graduate study.

If you fall short

Undergraduates whose academic credentials meet the standard can get conditional admission, but must meet an English qualification before enrolling and before an I-20 is issued. Completing ELS Language Center level 112 with a 2.5 GPA meets the undergraduate requirement. For graduate study, ELS level 112 is accepted only in some programmes, including Education, Engineering, Theology, Software, Law and Social Work.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your St. Thomas programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
