What Duolingo score do you need for the University of Strathclyde?

Since 13 January 2025 Strathclyde accepts Duolingo from all nationalities, and component requirements for tests dated from 1 July 2024 use the individual Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading subscores. For tests dated up to 30 June 2024 it uses the integrated subscores (Literacy, Comprehension, Conversation and Production): 100 in each for the 6.0 and 6.5 (5.5) levels and 110 in each for the 6.5 (6.0) level, with the same overall scores.

All English qualifications must be dated within two years of the start date of the course. Duolingo is also listed among tests that may be accepted for Online Pre-sessional English.

For comparison, the same page labels each degree level by its IELTS Academic condition (UKVI SELT or non-UKVI), so Duolingo 115 sits beside IELTS 6.0 with 5.5 in each component.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Strathclyde programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
