What TOEFL score do you need for the University of Surrey?

The University of Surrey matches TOEFL iBT to each course's IELTS level. A course at IELTS 6.0 needs 80 overall, IELTS 6.5 needs 88 and IELTS 7.0 needs 95, each with section minimums. On the new scale those are 4.5, 4.5 and 5. Surrey accepts the TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition, and results must be from the past two years.

Surrey TOEFL test rules

Surrey accepts TOEFL iBT and the TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition, achieved within the past two years. If you present several pieces of evidence, Surrey judges only the most recent one.

If your TOEFL score is below Surrey's level

Surrey runs 11-week and 8-week pre-sessional English courses on campus and online, and also accepts the British Council UK pre-sessional English course, the KL Excellence certificate and the Online Pre-Sessional English Course from Oxford International Education Group. Completing a Surrey pre-sessional course immediately before the degree meets the requirement.
