How Victoria University handles TOEFL scores
VU asks for a TOEFL iBT report that includes overall and individual band scores on the 0 to 120 scale. You must take the test no more than two years before you start your course. VU says it will accept tests not on its list in some cases.
Victoria University gives its TOEFL figures on the 0 to 120 scale. Since January 2026 TOEFL iBT score reports also carry a 1 to 6 band score; see the new TOEFL score scale.
For comparison, the same page sets IELTS 6.0 (no band below 6.0) for bachelor degrees and IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0) for postgraduate study.
Your offer and your visa are separate. Home Affairs says that for a TOEFL iBT result to be valid for Australian visa purposes you must select 'Taking TOEFL for Australia' when you register, and it lists TOEFL iBT Home Edition among the online tests it does not accept (Home Affairs English page).

If your TOEFL score is below Victoria University's level
VU English's English for Academic Purposes course is listed as an alternative: EAP Level 5 achieved for bachelor degrees and EAP Level 6 achieved for graduate and masters study.
