How Western Michigan handles TOEFL scores
WMU's TOEFL institutional code is 1902. At both levels the test must be taken within two years of submitting your application.

If your TOEFL score is below Western Michigan's level
The WMU Pathway Program lets you take academic courses while finishing English. For undergraduates, TOEFL 53 to 60 places you in Pathway I and 61 to 70 in Pathway II. For graduate students, 52 to 60 places you in Pathway 1 and 61 to 80 in Pathway 2. Pathway runs for Fall and Spring intakes only.
