What Duolingo score do you need for York University?

English proficiency tests are valid for two years. You cannot upload results to MyFile; for Duolingo, log in to your account and select York University as a recipient institution, then check MyFile to see whether it has arrived.

If you have not taken a test yet, York can still assess you on your academic record and make a conditional offer while it waits for your results. Graduate programmes set their own minimums within the Faculty of Graduate Studies guidelines.

For comparison, the undergraduate page sets IELTS Academic at 6.5, and the graduate regulations run from 6.5 to 7.5.

With a conditional undergraduate offer that has an English requirement, you can meet it through a pathway at the York University English Language Institute (YUELI) instead of retesting, such as Integrated Year One, which gives English support during first-year studies, Accelerated English or Academic Credit English. Eligibility depends on your current level, programme and start date.
