Bicycle Repairs and Courses in Ashby Moor

Spokes Bike Workshop

Spokes repairs all kinds of bicycles, including electric bikes. A basic service costs £35 and includes checking the brakes, gears and tyres. Most repairs are finished on the same day if you bring your bike in before 10 am. We also sell spare parts such as tyres, chains and lights, and our mechanics have more than ten years' experience. We are closed on Mondays.

Ashby Moor Community Bike Hub

At the Bike Hub, volunteers will show you how to repair your own bicycle using our tools. Sessions are held every Wednesday evening and are free, although we welcome donations. Children under twelve must come with an adult, and the Hub is in the old fire station on Bank Street. We also sell second-hand bicycles that have been checked and repaired by our volunteers, with prices from £40.

Pedal Doctor

Pedal Doctor is a mobile repair service: the mechanic comes to your home or workplace in a fully equipped van. There is a call-out charge of £15, plus the cost of any parts, and you pay by card once the work is finished. We cover Ashby Moor and the villages around it, and appointments are available seven days a week, including evenings.

Cycle Centre Ashby

As well as selling new bicycles, helmets and clothing, Cycle Centre has a repair workshop at the back of the shop. The shop is open from 9 am to 6 pm, Monday to Saturday. Anyone who buys a new bicycle from us gets twenty per cent off their first service. The workshop is very busy in spring and summer, so please allow up to a week for repairs at those times.

Ashby Moor Council Cycling Courses

The council runs free cycling courses for adults who have not ridden for a long time or have never learnt. Courses take place on Saturday mornings in Elm Park. Each course lasts four weeks, and groups have no more than eight people. Bicycles and helmets can be lent to you if you do not have your own. To book a place, call the council's travel team on 01632 960 287.
